A loathsome creature of the depths, Xaniri and its ilk are born from foul sorcery and mountains of sacrificed innocents. A regular egg of an arachnid is instilled with an emulsified paste of bone, flesh and blood, fed directly into the growing creature inside to supplement the yolk. When that is done, an unholy ceremony is performed by Xarinath or another Daughter of Irinax to ensure the unborn creature's metamorphosis into a Dragonspider. The Drow believe these creatures are the closest they can reach to Irinax's true physical form, until their messiah is brought forth.
